Casper Ruud won a big match on clay courts in Rome. The Norwegian tennis star beat local favorite Luciano Darderi in the semifinals. Ruud won with a fast score of 6-1, 6-1. This victory puts Ruud into his first-ever final at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia.

The exciting match took place on the famous red clay at Stadio Centrale inside the Foro Italico. Ruud looked sharp from the very first point. He relied on his powerful forehand to control the game. He also used a bright blue Yonex tennis racket to hit clean shots.

The tennis match faced a big challenge due to bad weather. Dark clouds moved over Rome and brought heavy rain. The umpire had to stop the play in the first set. At that time, Ruud was already leading the match 4-1 and had a break point.

The players had to wait out a long one-hour and 59-minute rain delay in the locker rooms. Many players lose their focus during long breaks. However, Ruud stayed very calm and ready.
